Currently, when a user wants to see more subjects, authors, etc. in a filter on the publisher landing page, clicking "More >>" opens the full set in a modal window.
Based on testing with UARC, this modal window is problematic for both limited dex. and print-disabled users. In some cases, the modal can trap assistive technology users. For others, having to cycle through a "Next" button to reach the desired subject is too much clicking.
Instead, we should abandon the display in modal and instead present users with a complete, or partial list of terms available within the filter box. A good example of this behavior is in library search:
which also limits the set to the 20 filters with the highest counts.
As part of this ticket, we should also consider the usability of listing all authors for large collections (HEB, BAR, EBC) - is it really that helpful to filter on an author name, especially when in some cases the author filters alphabetized and only have 1 occurrence? It is probably more likely a user would search for an author name first.
